  • what gear do you do this in?

  • The whole ALT-MOST test is done in 1st or 2nd gear. The test course is not very big at all. In the video above the bike is in 1st gear.

  • when are we ever going to make a rt hand u turn in the US? theres no such thing. lol. doesnt make sense to me...

  • Seems odd I know, but that is just how the ALT-MOST test is currently done.

  • True, rarely will you do a u-turn to the right on a street. (Parking area maybe.) Due to the throttle being on the, a right u-turn is typically more demanding. (Thus some states test the swerve only to the right as well.)

One correction, if you put a foot down in the u-turn, you won't 'FAIL'. You will lose some points.

Gear? 1st (harder for most) 2nd (usually smoother & easier) and is totally up to you.

Practice large. Work small. Keep your head & eyes up!

    Good luck!

  • Great tips. About to go for my 'Advanced' ridersafe course in South Australia. We have to do a double u-turn, right then left. Coming into the second u-turn is the hardest part! But fingers crossed with practice it shouldn't be too bad! Thanks for making the vids.

  • @marlo916 Its the one that the least people are used to, so if you are already good at a LT hand U-turn then you have to develop a new skill, and if you are good at neither then you learn how to LT u-turn in the test and RT u-turn in real life situations - so everybody should be able to do both

  • Bart Simpson really good at riding a motorcycle!

  • @DanielJuno same here man.. dropped my bike today trying to do a u-turn coz i hit the curb... fail :(

  • @marlo916 hahaha sorry. I didn't see where you said right hand u-turn. my bad

  • @tjnorred i don't know where you're from, but we drive on the right hand side of the road in the US... you can't make a right side u-turn.

  • @marlo916 California you can make u turns at lights.

  • LOL This test is extremely odd. In 15 years of riding I've never did a "Offset Weave" and not many right hand U turns. Though it's a good test to show your skills but I think they should give you more than one chance to do it. I had to re-license when I moved to another state, and failed the offset the first time using a large sport bike. At least they can give you more than one try because none of these test are written in the driver's hand book so how the f*** would you know what to practice?

  • for some reason i am so scared of this because i always think im going to slip on little rocks or dust

  • is that a honda rebel?
