Yes these are leyland 680 engines! They sound great together with the transmission of a class 101
-
Takes me back - i can almost smell those lovely dusty seats and the sound of everything vibrating in the coach - the new sprinters just aint got the style.
-
Sounds like a Routemaster (bus)

Sounds like a Routemaster. (bus)

May I say an Old Leyland Atlantean with 680 cubic inch engine.
-
That 101 looks right at home in the countryside.
-
The rattling you can hear is all the plastic flourescent light diffusers, they arent fixed to anything and rattle!
-
It sounds like a bloody bus!
-

Yes they are great at full throttle, I did them in service, search for 101676 on my channel and there is a good bit of thrash and rattle there.

No I could get used to this rattle back on the network instead of all the modern stuff. These are good honest trains which were reliable and you could trust them. Built much better too.
