Richard Hammond travels to Taipei and discovers the secrets of one of the world's tallest buildings, Taipei 101, in this episode of "Richard Hammond's Engineering Connections" to be shown on National Geographic UK on Mon 15th September, 9pm.

This modern marvel of engineering stands at a jaw dropping 1671 feet and is built right next to a seismic fault line, in a typhoon hotspot. Just what does this amazing building have in common with a bird cage, bamboo, racing yachts, sports cars and seat belts?

  • Richard Hammond has is own show on Nat Geo (Richard Hammond's engineering connections), and james May has his own, new show on Discovery (Man Lab).

  • I wonder if the dampers on the big yellow ball are designed by Ferrari, computer controlled and filled with ferro- magnetic fluid? :)

  • Can't wait to watch this on National Geographic Channel's Big New Mondays!
