CM690 Stealth CD/DVD-Drive mod

Hi all, I stealthed the CD/DVD Drive of my CM690. First, I took the original front bay cover and cut it to size with my dremel. Then I placed a piece of metal behind it, so you can't see the white tape -holding the cover in place- trough the mesh. Next, I removed the original cover of the drive, then I attached the modded cover to the CD/DVD-drive with Velcro. The long white thing you see on the pictures is the Velcro tape. The white tip underneath that is the extention of the open/close button, so I can open the drive by pressing the cover. Thanks for watching!

Dats kicken man, maar haal het plaatje van de drive er af, waar alle informatie op staat ?

@Bvzijverden Ja die kun je er makkeljk afhalen, eerst het grote plaatje eromheen, zit met pinnetjes in het stalen frame, dan het voorste plaatje op de drive zelf, die kon ik er gewoon af klikken. suc6!

do you just push the mesh a little to the inside so it touches the button? Pretty nice. but plz tell me ;) id like to do the same cuz it looks very nice

Yeah, I do. I velcro'd it so it can move a little. And now I just push the mesh, and hey, the drive opens. I used screwhead-covers as a pushpin, if you wanna know...

but how did you attack the mesh plate to the DVD drive? with tape? or glue? i'd really like to know xD

Velcro, here in Holland it's called klittenband, but that says nothing to you, just velcro. There is adhesive glue on one side, and velcro on the other.

From 0:04 to 0:10, if you look closely, you can see a faint flue light behind the upper drive.

Looks great! I want to do something like that to my CM 690 because it looks so good with nothing in it.
