  • @mrgerman553 thats not the point. the point is that wat they did was way out of hand. it looks as if they at least r trying to kill or torture him, judging from the blows to the head & the tasering. yes there r more severe cases where the victim(yeah victim of police) has survived (eg:robert davis) there r even less severe 1s where the victim has died. this also happens way too often in some countries and rcmp is known for many similar things. they also tried to smoothen the edges on this 1

  • He could have got shot with a gun, all cops are not good cops, but there are good one's. You don't think it was nessecary for the cops to use a taser, there's going to be a time when something may happen to you then you would need the cops, they weren't trying to kill him, it they were they would have just shot him then you would have really had something to talk about

  • @murmur5555 These officers were did what training had taught them to do. I don't know what your experience is with confrontational people but in my own experience even small individuals can be extremely difficult to restrain . Police don't handcuff people in the front for reasons of safety. Lets take into respect that RD was also 6'9 and 320lbs so one officer trying to just restrain a leg for instance would be questionable given his strength.

  • @murmur5555 Once again in an ideal world every death would be preventable. To call these officers sadistic and self centered in my opinion is unwarranted because you like many others have formed your opinion off of what the media has wanted you to see. You haven't been present for the good these men have done. None of these officers have had previous complaints of excessive force made against them from the public otherwise the media wouldhave already reported it.

  • @cowboy9mmca This death was completely preventable. Only sadistic, self-centered, police officers would use this amount of inappropriate force. Once someone is on the ground, they should be properly restrained with leg straps, rolled over onto their backs, and properly handcuffed. There is no need to put pressure on someone's chest, especially with so many officers present. Each officer could have taken hold of one extremity to gain control; no pressure is necessary on the head, neck or chest.

  • @murmur5555 I often hear comments like yours from people who work within the healthcare field. I have seen far worse treatment take place by healthcare providers on people with mental health issues than what occurred in this incident. This is only an issue because RD died during the process of being restrained. Unfortunate but unless you can perfect a way of dealing with potentially violent people please by all means write a user manuel.

  • @cowboy9mmca The police should not escalate situations and learn proper restraint technique. A large person can be handled with the right training.

  • @Ryantube007 He was angry and frustrated. Tell the RCMP to stop using weapons so liberally. This was a containment and restraint issue. They had more than enough officers to effect a nonlethal restraint, but instead they used their "force continuum" model which includes terrorizing someone and then keeping them from breathing.

  • @tarotimes Exactly.

  • @cowboy9mmca You've got that right! Hard to get a person down when they really start fighting. People don't understand until they have been in the position themselves.
