The thing that doesn't make sense about the "LSU wuz robbed/jobbed" chorus is that the refs could have "saved Bama" much easier with a roughing the kicker call over the running into the kicker call. Running into the kicker is almost poorly worded to call it because if you run into the kicker's extended leg it is nearly always called roughing the kicker. LSU's player ran into his extended leg and could have easily been called roughing instead of the 5 yard penalty.

Also, LSU still had an opportunity to stop Alabama on 3rd and 7 on the following play after the review. They gave up a underneath pass that Jones turned into a first down run. Alabama has been on the raw end of calls before in this very series. In 2007 Alabama's Matt Caddell obviously caught a 60 yard pass when up 34-27 on LSU which would have basically clinched a 10 or 14 point (2 score lead) late in the game. Instead the review was missed and LSU made several plays down the stretch to win it.
