The music is from All India Radio's Martin Kennedy teamed up with Steve Kilbey from The Church (who played at Tanelorn) and features home movie footage of the Tanelorn Music Festival from 1981. Bands playing at the festival were The Church, Midnight Oil, Split Enz and many more. This was my first music festival and as a young teenager, I was quite taken with some of the scenery. You might wonder why there is no footage of the bands playing - most of the good bands played after dark and my super 8 camera (being ancient technology) was useless in low light. • My dad went to this festival when he was 17, he loved it and has many cherished memories. This video brought them back.

Thank you for sharing, cheers uploader.

  • @JCreativeStudios Glad you liked the footage. I was 15 at the time and loved it (mostly!)

  • I was there too. Does anyone remember that weird pit/swimming hole where someone drowned? It was as hot as freakin' hell and I got a job working in the taco stand for $5 an hour. It really was fucking hot for three days.

  • @rockyonemambo if you are on Facebook search for 'Tanelorn-Festival' there are loads of photos there

  • remember the bloke selling cones in one of the stalls, rodriguez too smashed to finish his set, someone filling in for him with poetry, was kevin borich there or was that nararra, skinnydipping in the creek and an expensive block of hash. Those were the days to be young.

  • @friskypie Kevin Borich was definitely there

  • @allindiaradio good times. Thanks for the mammaries.

  • i wish that i was 17 again. This is it folks, over the top.

  • I played the sunday with Local Product. Lobby got us the gig. we were recording an album at central recorders at the time. We were ment to play saturday night but our singer Paul Mckean (RIP) took the brown acid. Jands PA with the limiters screwed tight for all engineers with no front. I remember spit enz took a long time to come on after the oils.
