Im from Mexico and I belive that Dermot Early is a relative. My mother Catherine Mc Lysnkey came to Mexico in the 1960s. I met his mother, Miss Kitty Early but I just learn about him, I belive he is a 2nd cousin of my mother and we were talking about him the other day. Im proud of knowing about a grate person being on the family RIP

@numanoid817 ...........to stand in with him. When i had the picture taken he shook my hand like i was his best friend in the world. I also had the pleasure of being in Lourdes for the 50th Military Pilgrimage. When he spoke to you he never expected you to be anyone other than yourself and always gave you his full attention. To me he was a legend... Rest well Sir!!

Having been in the Army for almost 27 years now i have seen many of the general Staff come and go through the years. I have served under quite a few Chiefs of Staff in that time too. To be honest i would probably have to dig deep to remember any of their names prior to Lt. Gen. Earley. I remember meeting him once not long after his appointment and asked him would he mind if i had my picture taken with him. He was more than happy to oblige and he almost made me feel as if he had asked me........
