"Head in the Cloud" coming soon! Enjoy the first track, yo.

Produced and performed by Gripp.

LYRICS:

If I don't know much, you know less/ so it's no stress//
to stretch/ the facts over the bars like a Bowflex//
I keep it so fresh/ Most rappers are tone deaf//
Watch me, you could check which OS/ I load next//
So if I said it in a line or a poem//
you'll understand what I mean when I say I'm "riding on Chrome"//
I spit the truth in a rap/ that's how I move and attack//
I'll kick it twice and leave them with a dual boot in their ass// Yeah, so that's the new meaning of "kernel" of truth//
I'm never falling off; I'm like a permanent tooth//
I swerve in and murder the booth/ The vermin is loose//
With no hesitation I'll say I'm nerdy, astute//
I'm muting the wack shit, the static; I hate the noise//
A beast on a rap on a track, I'm Hank McCoy//
Fall back! I've got minds to emancipate//
and I've got Fonzie all over my transcript: A//

(Hook)
They want it. They need it//
They're screaming: "Give us something new."//
I'm on it. Believe it//
I'm gonna give them something new//
They want it. They're fiending//
They're pleading: "Give us something new."//
I'm on it. Believe it//
I'm gonna give them something new//

As I resume, let me say: just get your Linux up//
Man, I don't give a fuck/ just let my pen erupt//
I'm deep into this code like an embedded struct//
and there's more reasons that I'll beat you than reasons "The Phantom Menace" sucked//
I'll never get enough/ The rap game is in a rut//
Throw that garbage out the window like a litterbug//
You think someone is spitting tighter than this?//
It's probably 'cos they're stealing rhymes out my recycling bins//
You're 'bout to witness something great//
You're never getting past me; pump your breaks//
I flame-flame rappers; now, many are burning//
'cos while they aim for turning heads, I aim for Hebbian learning//
I'm very discerning/ and I've got thousands of lines//
I'm out of my mind/ Battling me's a mountain to climb//
I am down for the ride/ but why you sounding surprised?//
Statistically/ someone as sick as me/ was bound to arise//

(Hook)

I've got terabytes of SATA hard/ full of my data, art//
binders full of battle bars/ and Magic cards//
The only dude to step on stage and calmly wreck//
then step off stage and waste 'em with a zombie deck// Everything these rappers do is the same//
Faceless Butcher: when I enter, they're removed from the game//
What you doing today?/ I'm improving my brain//
Ya'll are chewing the paste/ just stuffing glue in your face//
You recycle like aluminum; you're stupid, okay?//
Exhuming Biggie's grave/ and reusing his plays//
Don't ya'll get tired of the same old shit//
the 808 kick, the same old synth?//
I'm reclaiming the culture and I'm taking control//
Ya'll the same shape cakes and I'm breaking the mold//
I'm taking down the empire; it's no surprise//
'Cos if Skywalker could do it than so can I//
Ha!

(Hook)

Hey Gripp, i'm kinda Thanking all of my Inspirational Legends from

"The Inspirational Legends In The Making" team. I can't tell you how many times i have listened to "Diet - From Grass Nap" before going to bed, i think it's amazing how intelligent you are, and your ability to push the limits of a single beat, your flow is exquisite, i can only hope to meet you, and all the other Legends some day before my days come to a drastic end. Peace With Much Love Man. ~ VentiNelie

  • @VentiNelie I'm really flattered that you appreciate it. I break my ass making this music, so it's satisfying to know that people enjoy it.

    Thanks!

  • @BodybuildingMike I listen to all three plus a few others. If you haven't,you should check out Johnny Hoax and Tombstone Da Deadman.

  • Gripp, I've been listening to Syqnys and Greydon for a long time, but never came across you until now. You have gained a new fan, and i look forward to your new album.

  • Next time I'm proof-reading before I post.

  • Grassnap will be an album I give to my kids, It's incredible track for track. Followed you since it dropped. This? this is BY FAR, verse for verse, your best tune. Amazing man. Keep it up!

  • @Antdog5

  • @Antdog5 This song is meant to establish that I am an unashamed nerd, and that nerdiness and science are valid fodder for rap music. I can assure you that I am not jealous, and likewise that I am quite passionate about my music. It would be difficult to invest the kind of time that I do in it if I was not.

I'm sorry that you don't relate to this song, but I hope you'll still give the album a chance. I plan to have at least one opportunity for people to listen to it online before it releases...

  • @Antdog5 I have no conceptual objection to remixing or revisiting songs or borrowing elements or styles. I definitely apply techniques I hear in other songs to my own. That can be a way of pushing my limits, seeing what I can accomplish.

My problem is basically with artists who recycle to avoid pushing their limits. A lot of rappers seem uninterested in exploring new aspects of music-making or new song topics. They are ONLY repeating themselves. That's what bothers me.
