Apache by The Ventures

Here I come again with a humble interpretation of The Ventures' Apache. There is a little bit of The Ventures' style and a little bit of The Shadows' style as well... The parts where The Ventures' slide playing turned difficult I played them like The Shadows, and viceversa... well, here it is...

Now, the equipment, as always:

Guitar: G&L Legacy with Seymour Duncan Lipstick pickups and d'Addario "Chromes" strings 10-48's. (The guitar is set to the middle pickup to achieve that longed twang that we always loved)

Amp: Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue in the normal channel... didn't use the vibrato channel cuz it was too trebley for this song.

Effects: Keeley Compressor C4 thru an Electro Harmonix Holy Grail (Hall settings at about 14:00 hrs) thru an Electro Harmonix Hum Debugger in "Strong" settings, ya know, cuz compressors tend to add a little noise to the signal...

@8276205 Thanks. Yeah, I know. I was pretty tense, but at the time I recorded this (almost 2 yrs ago) I was starting to learn to play the guitar... I think if I redid this cover, it might sound a little different and I might be able to pull it off. Keep watching.

Thank you! Yeah, I love the way the Ventures used to do that section of the song, but still, Dick Dale is still the master of tremolo picking. He is awesome.

Nonsense, you did a great job..., i just got through watching the ventures do it, and they've been doing for over 50 years... Great job
