Christopher Daniels has enjoyed quite a lengthy career, especially when it looked to be over on national television only eight years after he debuted. Getting his start in the Chicago area in 1993, Daniels aimed to be one of the best wrestlers in the business, and one could certainly argue that he succeeded. In the late 90s, he would find himself under a developmental deal with the WWF, though he would be released before anything came of it. He relocated to California, and honed his talents in the APW gym with the likes of Michael Modest and Donovan Morgan. After a couple of matches with the WWF and ECW, Daniels' stock rose to greater heights. He made his way to Japan, competing under a mask, and known as Curry Man. He would put down some notable names with the Spicy Drop, and competed in the 2000 Super J Cup, being screwed(a work, of course, but still) by questionable refereeing practices. Back in the states, Daniels won the ECWA Super 8 tournament. In late 2000, he signed a deal with WCW, and in January of 2001, he and Michael Modest debuted, putting on a spectacular match. Halfway through, Daniels attempted a backflip, and landed square on his head. He finished the match with a dead left arm, and would eventually fully recover. His contract wasn't picked up after WCW's demise, and he competed in the 2001 King of the Indies tournament, making it to the semi-finals before being defeated by Low Ki. Daniels was an important man in the early history of Ring of Honor, competing in the main event of the first show, and planting the seeds for ROH's main storyline for the next two and half years. Daniels looked down upon the Code of Honor, and vowed to fight it with his hand picked army known as the Prophecy. They would wreak havoc on ROH for the first year of its existence, with Daniels recruiting the likes of Donovan Morgan, Xavier(who would win the ROH World Heavyweight Title), Mark Briscoe, and Samoa Joe. However, following ROH's First Anniversary Show, everything crumbled, with Xavier losing the ROH World Heavyweight Title to Samoa Joe, and Daniels and Morgan losing the ROH World Tag Team Titles to AJ Styles and Amazing Red. Undeterred, Daniels rebuilt the Prophecy, though internal conflict brought it down once again. Daniels would then set his sights full time on TNA, where he would hold the X Division Title on multiple occasions, and was a part of the now famous AJ/Joe/Daniels main event spectacular from Unbreakable 2005. Daniels would eventually return to ROH to prevent CM Punk(recently signed by WWE) from taking the belt with him. Though he failed, Daniels stuck around, eventually forming a tag team with Matt Sydal, and together, the two ended the title reign of the Kings of Wrestling to become the ROH World Tag Team Champions. Shortly after losing the belts, Daniels denounced the ROH fans, and left for good to TNA. Looking forward to the rematch of that spectacular Triple Threat match, Daniels may just walk out of that match the TNA Champion. Daniels' in-ring style is quite versatile, with Daniels using his agility to his advantage. Many have fallen to the Best Moonsault Ever, and more to the Angel Wings. The Last Rites is a creation of Daniels, and a move that has defeated some of the best in the world.

  • which came first CrossRhodes or last rites please some one answer

  • Last Rites. It's not completely confirmed, but it's generally accepted that Daniels invented the move.

  • @TheSuicidalDragon actually test drive came before last rites

  • Test began using the move in 2002, while Daniels was using it in 2000.

  • @TheSuicidalDragon I didn't know that why does Daniels only use that move in Japan

  • For the most part, the Last Rites was used as a finisher, along with the Angel Wings. As time went on, he began using the Last Rites less, almost using it as a big match finisher. He mainly used it in the U.S, and the Angel Wings, or the Spicy Drop in Japan most often.

  • A Chokeslam involves the throat being clutched by the hand of the attacker. Here, the arm is wrapped around the arm and throat.

  • A Uranage and the Throat Slam are two different moves.
