In 1752, the Collins family sails from Liverpool, England to North America. The son, Barnabas (Johnny Depp), grows up to be a wealthy playboy in Collinsport, Maine and is the master of Collinwood Manor.

He breaks the heart of a witch, Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green), who turns him into a vampire and buries him alive. In 1972, Barnabas is accidentally freed from his coffin and returns to find his once-magnificent mansion in ruin.

The manor is currently occupied by Barnabas' dysfunctional descendants, whom all are hiding dark and horrifying secrets...

This trailer sucks because the music doesn't match. I feel like this is a "watch some serious looking scenes while I play some unfitting music" youtube video.

Why is this movie marked under comedy?

I just saw the whole movie and it wasn't all that funny... There were some cute funny scenes/dialogue but that's it. It's more of a spooky/serious kind of movie. People die in this movie!!! More than once!!!!! I'd call it a drama not a comedy.

One more thing to add, I think if they made the film, with Burton's expert use of Art Direction, Nolan's expert use of cinematography, great visual and sound effects, good make-up, amazing costume design, a well-written dialogue, stellar acting, spectacular action sequences, dazzalingly yet intense fight scenes, smart humor, a beautifully-composed musical score, bone-chillingly suspense and a strong romantic element, I think it would be a terrific film as well as a huge box-office smash!

Also, if Nolan and Burton were to make a film like that together, I think the story could be about a teenage girl and her little brother who enter into an old, eerie-looking mansion in the woods one Halloween night where they find a mysterious but magical book that unleashes a swarm of supernatural perils and deadly creatures/spirits along with a powerful but evil wizard when they open it and the only one who can help them undo this is a cursed immortal teenage boy. Just a silly idea I had!

You know what would be a GREAT to see on the big screen? What if Tim Burton and Christopher Nolan were to write a script together and then turn it into a movie with the two of them directing it together?Something like Sleepy Hollow, Inception, the Harry Potter series, The Dark Knight trilogy, Hocus Pocus, Alice in Wonderland, and Jumanji mixed together. Kinda like a fantasy-thriller, action-adventure thriller, mystery-thriller, and horror film rolled into one. Now that would be EPIC!
