@mattavalon You defiantly want an amplifier for subwoofers. That has nothing to do with your head unit rather your battery

I can follow how to install it, but my questions are: 1. How do I uninstall the factory tape player in this old car? 2. How do I know if I will need extra parts, (like a "kit" to make the deck fit)? If someone could answer those questions, I would be so thankful! Best Buy no longer does free installations with purchase and I am NOT going to pay someone $90 bucks to do something so simple. But I am a chick & I've never done this before. Helpful tips & advice, please?

@telosfd run your car to charge the battery up ;D
Your radio doesn't use up any battery when you've got it of... so it shouldn't make a difference.
