The dive, yeah, was to get the call. Technically he was interfered with...
So, why are so many people upset by this?
(Goalies are looking through WIRED Mesh. His helmet clearly shakes from left to right on the hit. That messes with your vision, your composure, and on your awareness of the puck.)
If your opposition keeps throwing little digs in to get you off your game.
Then it's fair game to dive.
