@Swedishcarrina I had my heart set on Rene Zellweger myself, she would've been perfect for the role in my opinion. Not that Dana wouldn't have been, as far as the VOICE goes but Dana....And I say this with all of the respect in the world to Janis because she was my first real rock 'n roll female hero.....Is a whole hell of alot prettier than Janis.

Saw her live in a small hall show. She's got it. And more. She played Janis in the Broadway show: "Love, Janis" and yes she should do the movie.

you can watch a full concert by dana by going to WDR website. It's a rockpalast performance in Germany and it rocks. they also have a full gov't mule concert from 2007.

Dana Fuchs certainly manages to hit those guttural overtones. And truly gives full justice to the passion and spirit of the immortal Janis. Powerful stuff.
