Last September, Captain Steve M. Hill was booed by the GOP debate audience after he asked a question via video from Iraq about "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." Now, he and his husband, Joshua Snyder, discuss how the so-called Defense of Marriage Act, which prohibits the federal government from honoring legal marriages of same-sex couples, hurts their family.

You seem to have an issue understanding the definitions being applied. There is no asking for special rights, or even equal rights. It's asking for basic HUMAN rights. Gay, straight, bi, trans... we are all HUMANS and thus all have the RIGHT to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Being able to marry the person we love make people happy, so it becomes a basic human right. A right that the gay community is being denied. Get your religion out of politics and see how much easier things are.

Dude, you need to "takethetimetoday" to see through your hatred - which you probably think you're cleverly hiding behind "logic." Gay people just want to love another person and be recognized under the law, exactly like you. It just happens that those people are of the same sex. Wake up, you're in the 21st century.

Well obviously this guy below me is implying that being gay is a choice. Why? Would anyone want to be apart of a group of people, ridiculed, bullied, killed almost every day. If being straight was just a switch you could turn off and on, i'm sure they would do it, because no one would want to live this kind of life. Being gay myself, i know i didn't choose this. It's just who i am, and i either deal with it or live a lie my entire life.I'd rather be happy with who i am then the other way around

Actually the laws DID change. Marriage didn't used to be between a man and a woman, they had been one man and MANY women in the Bible. Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines and Abraham had Sarah and Hagar. But leaving religion aside, marriage has existed since before Christianity existed and as a Catholic I can firmly say that it isn't something Christianity gets to define, especially not by law, since we don't live in a theocracy.

Just think... you could avoid all the hardship and obstacles in your life, if you would do just one thing:

Stop being a faggot! Like women and marry a woman. Normal men do it every day and they aren't denied any rights.

the only ones "denying your rights" or "making your life harder" are yourselves. Be normal and all that will go away.

I don't care if it's the 21st Century. Marriage is only between a man and a womsn and that'd it. God and His laws don't chsnge.
