With respect, I would (and DO) train the dog to shut up when sent to place. A simple word-command can set him free to intimidation-bark - I use something that SEEMS opposite such as "you be good" so it SEEMS (to stranger) as if the dog is perhaps not under full control though really under TOTAL control - makes him more intimidating.
Then of course "help!" or the like can tell him "ATTACK!" if needed...
In any case, beautiful dog!

@ColomboNinja Yes, really. Intimidation. I wouldn't have trained him to do this routine, but I didn't train him. That's how he was trained, though - obviously... and so he's doing what he was trained to do. There's nothing wrong with the dogs breed, or it's intelligence.
Yours, however....

@onlywhenprovoked Lol really now? intimidation? he started barking the moment someone was at the door...so your telling me he has to intimidate even the girl scouts selling cookies? Yea I am new to this and I'll tell ya, this is stupid....you want a SMART breed who wont bark unless there is a real threat...one who will react when he knows there's trouble not just go all crazy and start barking
-
@ColomboNinja The dog was obviously trained to do intimidation barking and this "knock on the door" scenario is obviously one he's been taught to do.
You're new at this, aren't you?

that dog is annoying as hell!!!! a WELL trained dog would be smart enough to shut the fuck up and wait until there is a threat....terrible...it sucks cuz its an awesome breed

Just some constructive criticism have you thought about having your dog at your side not barking. Because you are putting yourself in danger having your dog across the room. Protection dogs are trained to bite what ever is close to them first. You could be grabbed and the dog might accidently bite you first. Plus the barking will make for a hard conversation. Thats why a dog at your side they see it's presents. Anyways Beautiful Dog and keep up the training!
Is he trained in Czech or Slovak? I think I heard you say "lehni" which is czech for "down" (slovak would be "lahni") and then "zostan" what mean "stay" in slovak (in czech would be "zustan"). "Dobry" then is "good" and is in both languages same...so I'm a little confused. BTW. what a sweeeet boy you have there.
