hi use c clamps instead of vice grips

I like the easy and 'understandability' nature of the above clip, however I does seem slightly 'hap-hazard' and even dangerous! my reason for this thought is: without a pressure release valve the the above could easily become an exploding bomb.
However if the temperature is monitored! then 'no problem' BUT most people tend to be stupid about these things! (i.e. never reading the small 'print' type of attitude) hence my slightly negative comment.

I'm doin a shit load of research and your's looks good but a 20' worm is what comes up most (i wonder if it matters). Also why don't you (or anyone else for that matter) use a thumper? It looks easy to make and from what i've read it's very importent?

@brotherboy77 Yes it works. It's not a practical setup if you plan to make a lot of shine at one time. This is basically a still for personal use only.

Dose anyone know how long it takes to distill about 2 gallons of mash and how much dose it yield?

@kenny48326 2 gallons of mash is hardly worth the effort. You may get 1/2 quart of shine from it. I would suggest fermenting 10 gallons or more for higher yields or you will get discouraged very quickly.
