Attack on Ahmadis in Lahore.wmv

28-5-2010 in Lahore armed groups attacked, two mosques belonging to the Ahmadi sect during Friday prayer. One of the mosques is located in an area of Model Town and the other in the crowded area of Garhi Shahu.

The terrorists entered during Friday prayers, where 1500 people had gathered, and continue to shoot. The attackers / terrorist were armed with grenades and automatic weapons. The Pakistani Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack. The Ahmadis are considered heretics and subject to violence in Pakistan and the sect is considered heretical by main-stream Islam.

Spokesman for the Jamaat-i-Ahmadiya Pakistan told to media that 95 people of the community had lost their lives in the strikes at Model Town and Garhi Shahu.

We have strongly condemned the militant attacks on the worship places of Ahmadi community in Lahore and called upon the government to take adequate measures to protect the minorities. This is not just an attack on ahmadis it is an attack on minorities in Pakistan.
