I hate some women who take over a weight machine for like 10 minutes on the lowest weight doing like 100 reps very slowly. But then again saying that i bet some women hate us men grunting when lifting weights. Well let me tell you the grunting helps that extra 5% to lift more. That extra 5% push could break though a plateau.

Slow movements are better for resistance training. Because in strenght training you need to focus one The intensity

*cough* hypothesis, not theory. :)

@copnite12342 i never understood why most women who want to get in shape AVOID lifting weights because they think it'll turn them into hulking beasts. The fact is those huge bodybuilders women are afraid of turning in to . . . it took them YEARS of dedicated weight lifting to become like that!! If it were so easy to get huge then don't you think every guy on the planet would be walking around and looking like Arnold Schwarzenegger?? lol ;-P

People still get results doing volume training and also doing negative repetitions. So I disagree to some extent.

I really wish I could workout with this man.

depends on what muscle you are training and how many ways you want to stimulate the muscle fibres.
the core for example is under constant tension especially while standing to strengthen the tva for example the most beneficial way would be to keep the muscle under tension e.g front plank for one minute.

Actually, you're trying to wear the muscle out, dumbass. Plus, working more slowly allows you to control your weight more easily, which grants proper form and a lower risk of injury.

@StanleyKu Yes, I admitted that when I replied to Nol3afclover. And BTW, Steve ripped me a new one his talk show segment. I will change my vote on this video, but I will still do slow reps.
ever hear of the "time under tension" principle or ever hear of Arthur Jones? you need to do it all, not just one style.

@tommybarresi Yes I have heard of Arthur Jones. Ever see him? Not many muscles. And it the INTENSITY of the tension not the time!

Hardly anyone I see in the gym does weight lifting too slow. It's usually too fast. Slow and controlled movement is the way to go.
For example, today I saw people cheating on momentum and unable to squeeze at the end of their rows. Those jerks can cause injury.
I had to thumbs this down.

and its true that we wont bulk up? ladies i mean
copnite12342 9 months ago
@copnite12342 Absolutely. Most women never lift hard or heavy enough and that's why they never look any better. Women don't have the hormones or muscle structure to look like a man. And if they do they're taking drugs.
