  • Room temperature supercunductor? Ha! Have you forgotten that Spire is freezingly cold? We see that in Sirrus' firecamp memory.

  • @GalaxyGuy12 Afaik, the highest-temperature super-conductor that we can currently produce operates at around 90K (-183 degrees Celcius). The earlist superconductor discovered was Mercury at a temperature of 4K, near absolute zero! "Room temperature" in this context simply means temperatures that don't require the use of liquid helium or something similar. :)

  • good thing it doesn't let you go when the conductors aren't all used or you would crash, but at least you would get to see the ground.

  • Actually, I believe that the ship would break free and go back to floating too high. You'd be stuck up there until you starve.

  • Sven, I don't mean any offense by this but... you have to stop trying to apply logic to video games. It would cause your head to explode.

  • Any other game I would agree, but not Myst. With Myst, you have to be able to apply logic to it. It's the whole point. :-)

  • If you've got twenty years, you could make tools out of just about anything.

  • he properly got some tools and things from visitation from ctherine or even artrius , a screwdriver borrowed and never returned sort of thing

  • I've really enjoyed this Let's Play so far, thank you for making it. :)

  • But in the memory where Sirrus is at the campfire, he comments that there is 'no linking book back' or something. Wouldnt that mean that he had explored the entire Age in search of it prior to that scene, and therefore likely have had plenty of time to locate firewood?

Or perhaps Atrus left the firewood there as a small act of generosity to whoever would become trappee, perhaps along with the sheets Sirrus was sleeping in?

  • @Dilandau3000 I understand about the inconsistencies, however, I think your over thinking it. In many of the games there were places that we couldn't go. There very well could be another place with vegetation and I would expect one because of the small amount of plants in this room. If your willing to accept you don't get to see many of the places used by the characters, it stands to reason that there is more here than meets the eye. Including a room that may have been similar to a blacksmiths.

  • science doesnt prove anything sirrus...magic does O_O or you could just keep using science to find out how they float and get a massive headache. instead you could just say that thats the power of the art and let it go

  • @WriterOfMadness

too bad Sirrus was such a douche, otherwise the world of engineering would bow down to him and call him its god.

  • @Dilandau3000

That would've been a great idea for a death scene if they had included more death scenes.
