took the day off to hunt with winnie. Shot this video of winnie tracking, pointing, flushing and retrieving a cock pheasant. Rare shot of bird about to flush from cover

  • that is an absolute brilliant dog should be very proud. great point great work and a very good video did u drop the camera to take that shot was really intense lookin at it i love the feeling of excitement that you get wen u see a pointer on perfect point well done great dog :)

  • @Morgasm172 Thanks very much, I wasnt sure if people were viewing our videos anylonger. I have some really good videos to add from this year but am waiting until i can record some acoustic guitar to add to the background. I get so darn excited when winnie is tracking, it never gets old. It feels the same way every time...like her first point. Thanks again for commenting

  • That's a awsome dog! I'm thinking of getting a German Shorthair/Coonhound mix. will that make a good bird dog?

  • @Sn0wman1021 I think the you'll be all set with the mix. If you look at winnie closely she has the same markings as a coonhound. yellow legs yellow mouth....although they have turned white due to her age. I used to call her goldenpaws.

  • Awesome video! I loved how you got footage of the bird just sitting there before it flushed. I don't think I've ever seen that before!

  • @ibanez2010 Thanks for commenting. I had been trying to get video and pics of her for years prior to this. My hands were shaking I was so darn excited. I left the camera on top of the truck prior to leaving the field. totally forgot to grab it. I found it when i got home and out of the truck! unharmed, roof rack kept it from sliding off.

  • ..and a great shot. Reminds me of when I was young and Dad would take the entire family hunting for rabbit and pheasant. One time he shot a beauty and had it stuffed. It's a beautiful bird that we should leave alone now. The deer population is growing again. Plenty to hunt ..Thanks for sharing .. Have a merry ..
