  • great video! Quick question: where is the "mixer" that you can access by hitting F5 (you access that at :59 mark)? In reason is that still a separate window or is it just the mixer in the rack? Second question, what is the thing above the redrum labeled "drums"? Was the a part of the redrum in earlier versions of reason or is that another device? Last and most important question: what is the thing labeled "master section"? It's important in the videos and I can't find it anywhere!!! Thx !

  • @MusicforLions I totally understand your confusion! That's all stuff that's new in Reason 6 (and was in Record 1.5 but not Reason 5). Reason 5 doesn't have the big mixer so hitting F5 won't bring it up. Reason 6 has it, though. The thing above the redrum is what's called a "mix channel" in Reason 6. That's what shows up on the big mixer. Every device that wires to the big mixer has a corresponding mix channel above it like that. The master section is also new to Reason 6. Hope that helps!

  • Dr Rex? shouldn't it be Dr Octo-rex ?

  • @shrimpy342 Reason 5 hadn't come out when James started this series and since it's week 1 on this video, he's still in Reason 4 and Record 1.0.

  • Nice trick James. Good stuff.

Now get out your chair and kick Theresia and the other developers asses till they make a proper programmable timestretch algorithm for the NN-XT :D

  • Propellerhead software sounds as good as you make it sound. Record is a tremendous improvement! If it doesn't sound great when you use it, maybe it's because you need to develop more skill . . . .

I use it and I love it.

  • This is all amazing... but how do you do this in Reason?? (im using reason 5, no record)

  • great tip number 1

  • @audiobahn404 @kindofallpedia Just to be clear and correct, Reason 5 and below have mixers but they are smaller mixers than the big pro mixer in Reason 6.

  • @kindofallpedia Reason 5 and below don't have a mixer. Record does, and the new Reason 6 (out now) has merged the programs together.

  • how did you get that mixer up? any help!!! cos that is really cool!!! is it a plug in
