WUHF, Fox Rochester, reports on a program at Rochester Institute of Technology that opens up the world of video game development to area Girl Scouts.
Anchor: It was a day full of games for girl scouts at RIT. But they weren't playing games, they were creating them. Today, RIT led a special program for 32-girl scouts. It gave them a hands on chance to learn how computer games work. Later they t that kowledge to e test by bilding a virtual pinball game. The girls and gaming program was started last year by r-i-t professor stephen jacobs who created it fr his dughter's girl cout troupe.
Steve Jacobs: The girl scouts actually have a badge requirement program called games for life. It can be done around egular gams or it can e done with regular games. So I look at heir curiculum, so I designed on that ould do everything to get their badge all around computer games.
Anchor: Jacobs says he wants to put all the steps together to create a virtual pinball game online so girl scouts across the country can use it. He also says there is a big demand for women in the video game industry.
