It was running late because of a train accident down the track.

  • I sense the sarcasm in your post. What the engineer did was a RARE personal salute for my grandson. The train had been parked just short of the crossing for two hours due to an accident up the track. The engineer acknowledged that my grandson had patiently waited for the train to cross.

  • Texas Eagle-Sunset Limited?

  • Now that's some horn there!

  • I wasn't being sarcastic... I merely stated that I like that engineers do sound their horn at these "No Horn" crossings and that it was nice of him to do so for your grandson.

  • I don't live far from this crossing and that's what I like to hear, a train horn at a "No Horn" crossing.... nice of him to do that for the young man.

  • I remember this day. I rode the train from Austin to Fort Worth and it was about two hours late because the UP train had an accident.
