@whoscaleb I'm an Orange County resident, so I feel yah there. I dread having to go to certain parts of Santa Monica/LA having gotten stuck at sensor-controlled lights before.

@Shadow04HA Magnets are 100% fraud for tricking sensors. It doesn't increase your metallic mass. The sensor loops are basically just giant metal detectors tuned to a certain tolerance and unfortunately adding a magnet doesn't help.

Wear some gear dude.

hahaha. i've thought about doing that a few times. What I really want to do is buy some high powered magnets and put them under the bike. That's probably the safer way to go.

That's one way to do it, but it's actually illegal to do. You aren't allowed to leave your vehicle unattended in a roadway, bikes included. Best solution I've found - but it's always hit and miss depending on what sensors are being used - is popping my kickstand down right over a roadway wire. It seems to work more often than not.

@gymkhanadog I never though of doing that. We have some very bad traffic actuated sensors here in LA County. Technically speaking, all we really need to do is write and complain, and they have to fix it. But in the mean time, I'm going to try that kick stand trick.
