Musharraf is the best thing ever happened to Pakistan. Atleast he was getting pakistan rid of extremists.....look what happened to Pakistan rite now.....talibans killing innocent people, imposing shariah in swat, suicide bombings......Musharraf is the best. Musharraf, as one of his peer Generals mentiond after the coup, is tactically superior but strategically deficient. That means, he can get stuff done but can't think long-term, i.e. he cannot fix the system because that requires a visionary (like Imran Khan).

i agree with u .....imran khan is a great individual and a leader....but we cant dismiss every thing mushrraf did in one instance...we have to give him huge respect for what he has done.

I have always considered Musharraf a patriot, but the guy has a psychologically flawed method of thinking that he himself is the answer to all of Pakistan's problems. No sir, Pakistan needs a system - not individuals. We need independent judiciary and media -only then will the political system become accountable. Musharraf has attacked all the institutions aforementioned.
