  • The general public is disgruntled about the loan, I get it, but the village is a great place to be and the jealousy and hate needs to stop. In the next year

    - Cafe, London Drugs, restaurant, grocery store, etc.

    - Access to sea wall

    -Community center

    - Park and fenced in dog run

-Pool, sauna, steam room, etc. and they all work! This place will have its own economy ... and will be good for Vancouver. Imagine all the stops people will do along the sea wall. Its a good thing for sure.

  • @jblackrupert3-- That's a pretty derogatory things to say. Your implying that all low-income people are junkies? GTFO. That's a huge majority of the population your referring to. Just to let you know, the co-op next door is a majority of families (like any co-op) and the social housing deals with a lot of people with disabilities. They building is wheel-chair friendly and I know some of the folks there. Sorry man but please pass-off your negative energy elsewhere. This place is awesome!

  • @wapow006

All fine and good until the low income junkies start moving in next door.

  • First of all it wont become a ghetto, given time and the right price they will sell. the city is having issues selling these condos because they are A)defective and B) overpriced... both of these areas can be fixed. planning for the community needs to be enforced by the government and business incentives in order for the community to thrive.. no point in putting blame. Just Fix it. no body will care about the past once you fix the issues.

  • I am disappointed with sound proofing but I guess that's just luck of the draw with regards to your neighbour. I also hear toilets, heating, leaking, etc. are quite common with new buildings. Of course some of the deficiencies are extreme but other stuff can be remedied easily. Sliding door--fixable, leaks--fixable, heating--fixable, flooring that's unfinished--fixable...

  • I live here and I own my condo. I must say that I DID have a lot of deficiencies however, I give a lot of credit to E&Y because they fixed them. My toilet stopped working on the weekend and I wanted emergency services and they got someone there in 10 minutes! Yup... no joke... 10 minutes. I don't get the owners that are suing now. They should wait and see if E&Y fixes their stuff first THEN sue. Smh at some of this...

  • lol at all the people that purchased these places before before in hopes to flip. Thats about 90% of you !

  • I doubt that's a load bearing pillar-- you can't just cut off a load bearing beam.

  • I live near this and talk to owners all the time. Most of them are not rich. Some work more than 2 or 3 jobs for the down payment and to pay for mortgage. Some want to sue but are afraid because they are immigrants and don't trust government. Who could blame them? What a mess!

  • Most people I know who live in Vancouver did not have a positive opinion about Olympics. People now associate real estate in Vancouver with scams and frauds. Right now Vancouver is the most expensive city in North America. Any city that makes it prohibitively expensive to live in, will have negative impact on its future.
