More than 160 million recordings by more than 500 different performers and some 7 million copies of sheet music of Rudolph the red nosed reindeer by Johnny Marks. Cowboy singing star Gene Autry introduced Rudolph at Madison Square Garden in 1949. James Pierpont wrote "Jingle Bells" in 1857 frist called " The One Horse Open Sleigh" for a Thankgiving program at the large Boston church he attended.
