@jerrykroth Schwartzkopf,,,that evil bastard was responsible for Hauptmann's death and how the Hell he could sleep at night God knows.
He ( Schwartzkopf ) fabricated evidence and the fact that he did was no secret,,,seems like state police were, for the most part, untouchable in those days.
Prominent state witnesses admitted in later years that Schwartzkopf used pressure and veiled threats to have them falsify their evidence. Imagine sending an innocent man to his death,,,disgusting.
