While it is true that the buildings sustained hurricane damage, the other issues were the main ones.

@bewarethedecks I THOUGHT IT CLOESED BECAUSE OF A HURRICANE THAT DAMAGED THE STUDIO

Nickelodeon Studios closed in 2005 for various reasons. The main ones were:
1) Interest in game shows dried up in the late 90's early 2000's.
2) Actors refused to move from Los Angeles to Orlando to work @ the Studios. No actors = no shows.
3) Kids stopped going to the Studios to take the tour and visit the store.
Nickelodeon recorded a few specials there in the early 2000's, but by then the Studios were beyond help. On April 30, 2005, Nickelodeon pulled the plug.

Im not gonna lie, that last green they had like on nick gas was ugly but it brings so many memories

@Darkdarth33, Spongebob is still on Nick, & I believe they still show a few new episodes of Rugrats time to time. I think what happen is when Unviersal ended the relationship with Vicom, that what ended Nick.

what happenend to nickleodeon studios? can anyone tell me?

I visited Universal Studios in 2003, just a year before Nickelodeon Studios closed. I was with a school group, and the group I was hanging out with didn't want to go do the tour or go look at it. I went back this past summer and was looking forward to going to Nick. I was so sad when I found out it closed! I have the pictures that I took of the slime geyser and everything SOMEWHERE at my parents' house. But it was a childhood dream that was never realized. :(

The buildings are still there @ Universal Studios. They underwent some renovations and are now being used by different organizations.
The fountain and Nickelodeon sign are gone. Nobody knows what happened to them, but it is thought that they were junked. The time capsule was moved to its new home, the Nickelodeon Suites Resort (the Nick Hotel), in Orlando Florida.

It makes it a sadder video to mute the audio and turn on "Here's to the Night" by Eve6. RIP Classic Nickelodeon

@Darkdarth33 What if Spongebob was canceled??? (Invader Zim was AWESOME though, right?) And replaced with new episodes of an old series?? (Fairly Odd Parents should be canceled, too, it's just terrible these days). . Let's just go on strike, really. I know it's bad to say this on Nick's birthday, but really. Who's running that network? Oh, and I showed a little kid of today The Angry Beavers. He said it was better and that they should be showing old things instead of the new Nick programs.
because nickelodeon studios closed down is that why they cancelled 90s programes like doug rugrats hey arnold and rocket power

No. The current demographic of children craves idiotic and moronic shows like "Fanboy and ChumChum". I saw the show once and that my people, Is the death of REAL Nckelodeon and the birth of Corporate-Sell-Out-"Will-Do-Anything-To-Make-A-Quick-Buck" Nickelodeon. Sadly.

HOW COULD YOU TNA WRESTLING??!!!!!! move to the former spot of nickelodeon?!
guy2008rules 2 years ago
No, no, that is incorrect. TNA occupies the space near Twister. Behind the "New York Library". What is inside Nickelodeon is the Blue Man Group show. The other half of the building is occupied by offices of SUN Sports Network.

Yes. The last of REAL Nick programming was All That. What marked the end of REAL Nick was Spongebob Squarepants. Spongebob Squarepants closed the book on Nickelodeon. The final chapter in Children's programming. Ended in 1999. In all seriousness, Spongebob Squarepants was the end.
