fantastic - a true lady. She was a star her whole life.Yet she always remained down to earth. Far more class than the sp called stars of today. The fact that she remained in demand as an actress shows how gifted she was. She always treated the crew well on every project she worked on and thanked them whenever she was awarded. She was a one off remarkable STAR

An awesome talent among actors and she had more class in her little finger than any of the actors of today. Wish I had known her personally.

Ah, she was alright, I guess.

What a great lady of the silver screen! A wonderful actress probably amongst the top 10 hollywood ever produced. Cecil b Demille once said of Stanwyk that she could do anything I through at her that`s why she became a mega star, she did!!!!

A real Lady, a great star of the old Hollywood.
Well deserved!

Still gorgeous and classy and fierce.

They don't make 'em like her any more. Classy lady.
The old Hollywood stars had 100x more class than the "stars" of today.

Amen! There aren't any "stars" today anyway, they're just highly paid personalities...except for maybe Kate Winslet, she seems to have some real star quality like the silver screen stars.

Barbara was a beautiful older woman, and a stunning young woman, she was never a hog for the spotlight and did not bore the world with her opinions... we will never see that kind of talent or verve again ...

So very true, thanks for your comments. Stanwyck was indeed one of a kind and her likes we'll never see again. She was a very private person and did not care much for the spotlight or a lot of attention focused on her...see how shy she is while accepting any award ever given to her....and so, much to her credit, she didn't make a political speech, she just gave her thanks and walked off stage.... She was always heads above everyone.
