I agree. Yvonne does and outstanding job. Way under rated. She set the tone for music of the era.

@DarkkOrbit "Criminally under-rated" ... excellent description.

Beautiful Track on a SUPER LP RECORDING!!
-
ella tiene canciones maravillosas y desconocidas

To mention again, when I seen this original play, I actually got goose bumps from the music. No other play since has had that affect on me, even very good Broadway plays I saw.
-
I saw the original play on Broadway in 1970 and to this day, I love all the music. I have ordered the tapes, CD's for the original play- - -there is no comparison!!

@BadRaspberriesFinger They won't, that must be one of the most foolish things I have read. It's been tried before, didn't they find his ossary a few years back? A lot of what appears in the Bible HAS been corroborated by archaeologists. You keep accepting all the negatives and dismissing any positives that do not agree with your beliefs.
-
@zaftra What if archaeologists come up with Jesus's bones? Then what? And what are you talking about concerning "lay[ing] waste" to Biblical claims? Most of what's in the Bible has NOT been PROVEN from an archaeological view (except perhaps to followers of the Naked Archaeologist).

niemand anders mag dit lied zingen... Yvonne Elliman rules!!!
Nobody else should sing this song!!!
i was only 10 years old when this was released. I have seen and heard many productions of Jesus Christ superstar since then. Yvonne IS Mary Magdalene. Hands down. No questions asked. The end.

Yvonne Elliman is one of the most criminally under-rated female vocalists of all time. Sure, she's had some success, but listen to the range she displays so effortlessly, and the boot-to-the-head emotion she brings to this song. She takes whatever lyrics are given her and glorifies them beyond imagining.
