Hi,
This is the 'reception' clip of a much longer interior design presentation, prepared for an Icelandic clients 'workplace'.
The brief was to create 'A little bit of Iceland in London'.
Greeting guests to reception, on its welcome desk-perch of stone and back-lit glass, is the curious and surreal 'On the Edge' sculpture by Icelandic artist Gudrun Vera.
The reception space has a cool, serene and surreal white-on-white aesthetic with a mix of honed off-white stone flooring and low-iron back painted white glass wall cladding.
The cool aesthetic is balanced by 'warmth' created by the recessed LCD 'fire place'.
There are no direct light sources. Instead all lighting is indirect, recessed under the floor and in the ceilings around the perimeter washing the walls from above and below.
The guest waiting area is a collection of iconic and futuristic furniture pieces by renowned and up-and-coming designers.
Perhaps the biggest contrast in reception, is the walk-thru 'Diamonds are Forever' sculpture linking the space to the flexible meeting suites. (see 'corridor' clip)
