This video will show 1 flattering makeup technique for each of the 3 eye types:
- Deep-Set Eyes (high crease)
- Hooded Eyelid
- Monolid

This video will demonstrate that your makeup application should be adapted to best enhance your natural eyelid type / crease placement. What works for one person may, or may not, work for another person.

On all 3 models, I used the same eyeshadow colours:
1. Beige / gold / cream (light colour)
2. Medium brown (medium darkness colour)
3. Charcoal (dark colour)

Side-note for hooded lids and monolids:
A common challenge for these eye types is for eyeshadow and eyeliner to transfer from one part of the eyelid to another, due to the severity of the fold. A couple things can help you avoid this:
1. Use an eyeshadow primer to prevent your eyeshadow/eyeliner from transferring
2. Use a longer-lasting eyeliner that isn't as prone to transferring (try liquid!)
3. Set your eyeliner with eyeshadow

Special thanks to my fabulous volunteers: Ambika, Denise, and Sami!!!

  • Where are the other eye lid types? I dont have any of these :(

  • @Nanodae Other eyelid types will be covered in a following video :)

  • Great vid! What about the ones who have eyelid types between deep set and hooded lids? lol i'm one of them!

  • @feribz You have an eyelid type that I'll call...the "standard lid" (lol, for lack of terminology). I will discuss this eyelid type in a later video, or else this video would become much too long!

  • Excellent video!!!! Please do more in this style maybe blush and/or bronzer for face shapes. This was so good, loved it!

  • @DrugstoreDiva Great idea, and thanks for the request! I'll put it on the list for future videos...but just keep in mind, these types of videos take a long time to plan, film, edit, and post!! But hopefully I will be able to get to it in the new year :)

  • I have the same kind of eyes or eyelids that the first model has, but my eyebrows are very low, so I kinda dont have a browbone.. or ofcourse I have but I cant 'use' it when Im doing my makeup. Ive tried to pluck and wax my eyebrows, like under or the lowest part, if you know what I mean, but they still are very low.. Any ideas to what I can do? xD By the way SOOOO helpful video, this AND the different eye types! Keep up the good work, and you are also very pretty!<3

  • My left eye is a deep set crease & the right is a..i dont even think its a hooded. My eyelid just goes inside my socket but still is as small as the hooded when it comes to putting on makeup. Is there anyone else that can point me to a video that helps uneven creases like mine?
