  • Wow. A brilliant talk by a brilliant writer, but it saddens me that much of what he talks about could very easily be said to be true today.

Does anybody think, however, that a popular talkshow could have a serious discussion about censorship and network interfence today?

  • One of the main differences between the 50's and today is the source of the censorship. Back then it was primarily from corporate sponsors. Today the source is more from organized political forces. The topics and language that are flung around today's comedies and dramas would have the 1950-1960 network suit's heads explode. There are much more political censorship attempts being made by today than at any other time in our nation's history.

  • love rod serling!! thanks for the vid, mike.

  • Check out the "Bonus Features" on Part 3. It's a strange juxtaposition see those 60's commercials against the TZ audio in the background.

  • I hate to correct Rod but the Nazi are suppose to have used Zyklon B gas. Not Cyanide Gas as he stated in the interview above. Yet no evidence of Zyklon B has been found.

  • Wow, I didn't know he wanted to honor Emmett Till by exposing the HORRIFIC people and circumstances responsible for his brutal murder. Hats off to you, Rod. I agree w/ other posters that political, special interest groups today try to force people to "apologize" or "sanitize" their work.

  • Lassy having cubs, hahahahahaha

  • Rod Serling sounds like an exaggerated George Clooney. Such an awesome voice.

  • The censorship that exists today is different. Situations dealing with sex, violence and race that were prohibited by sponsors in Serling's day are all over TV today - - esepcially the sex. However, today it's more the political police that censors TV - - everything must be politcally correct, and religion and morals are banned. Twilight Zone's episode "Night of the Meek" features the line "thank God for miracles" - - such a line would not be permitted today by the network's politcal police.

  • Rod Serling is GOD.Delete this again..youtube...do it.
