In shorynjiryu renshinkan karate-do they teach you this kata in green with purple stripes. They teach you kenchu-ho in white.

@skasensei @skasensei i learn both shorin ryu, and issinryu. they are very close. mine was taught by ezio shumabuku the founder of issinryus brother. I even studied shito ryu the pinan katas was very familiar but had some small diferences. I like the comment on black belts so true. i believe all styles could learn from each other. and try to fit the indiviual.

Thank you for taking the time to post this. It is very helpful to my son and I. We are on this Kata now and are learning Isshinryu Karate together under Sensei Jim Malone who learned from Grandmaster Harold Long. God bless you.

There are many versions of Seisan as it is one of the older kata dating back over 400 years. I ask that you keep that in mind before posting senseless comments concerning corrections in the bunkai. there is a joke that goes " how many black belts does it take to change a light bulb?...10...1 to actually change it and 9 to say well thats not how my Sensei showed me."

i always love to see the comments on these videos. good and bad. please let me start by thanking all of you for your interest in my videos. please know that i put these up as stated for reference for my students. to those of you that have benifitted from them i am very happy. as far as the negative are concerned. i perform the kata the way it was taught to me by my sensei which is the way it was taught to him by Grand Master Angi Uezu (son in law of the founder of Isshinryu)
