Swiss pianist Oliver Schnyder plays piano works by Robert Schumann (1810 - 1856). A CD that presents the composer in all the major phases of his artistry: Beginning with the composer's first Opus, the ABEGG variations, Schnyder plays also the Davidsbuendlertaenze and the famous Arabesque, and he ends his recital with the two very last works by Schumann, the "Songs of dawn" and the "Ghost" variations. The CD was released on occasion of Schumann's 200th birthday anniversary on June 8, 2010.

Beautiful performance, video and commentary!! I recently heard for the first time Schumann's "Ghost" variations. Sublime theme and variations which touched my soul. What a miraculous composition considering Schumann's condition.
