back in the 80's, as a teenager, front was one of belgium's best livebands. really impressive, militaristic, repetitive.

Well can I jump in say something. EBM is a term created by F242.. And they consider no one else expressing the form. Playing old material is good!

Geil, geil, geil...is this a contest? I did see them live in 1984 in De Effenaar in Eindhoven (NL). A lot of the samples are taken from the movie "Apocalypse now". One of the best electronic bands in the eighties...but still performing the Commandomix almost 25 years after release is a bit pathetic

Yeah? Why is that? Just because you saw them in 1984 the audience of today has no right to do so? Anything wrong with the energy of the show? And by the way, Commando Mix wasn't played live from 1989-2004.

Just because you saw them in 1984 the audience of today has no right to do so?: Did I say that...I don't think so. The band was way ahead in the eighties, so if they need to play their old material these years - 25 years later - than I think F242 is neither renewing nor improving their music anymore.

Well, you called the performance of Commando Mix on this show pathetic, right?
Apart from that, you're wrong anyway. The version of Commando Mix being played now IS a renewed one. In contrast to certain other EBM legends, F242 rebuild and re-recorded this song (and all others) from scratch instead of simply playing the same old backing tapes. Check out the latest live release and you'll hear it.
