YES I FINALLY FOUND IT! I had a VHS when I was little that was a compilation of Walter Lantz cartoons, this was the one I remember most vividly.

Am only 21 and i used to watch these cartoon my nana got them all on tape for me and my sister when wee were kids,when i though that baby bird was dead i cryed when i was little i was horrifed . haha

i once killed a dove and then captured some in the door,....after it was dead i felt very bad...and vowed never again to Kill the birds....
