Toronto, ON - (May 1, 2008) - An arbitrator has overturned a pending one game suspension of B.C. Lions offensive lineman Jason Jimenez, the Canadian Football League (CFL) announced today.
The CFL Commissioner had imposed the suspension on Jimenez following what was ruled to be an illegal block on defensive lineman Anthony Gargiulo of the Calgary Stampeders during a game last November 3rd at B.C. Place Stadium.
Pursuant to terms of the collective agreement between the league and the Canadian Football League Players' Association, Jimenez and the players' association requested an arbitrator to review the suspension.
The arbitrator ruled that the contact in question was accidental, and set aside the suspension.
"We respect the arbitrator's decision, and will continue to work with the CFLPA on issues of discipline and process, in the best interests of our game and our players," said Commissioner Mark Cohon.

And if you guys think a grainy, two second slow motion replay in the corner of the screen provides enough evidence of malicious intent, then you're even bigger putzes than I thought.

Jiminez is a piece of garbage. At least if he acknowledged his mistake and apologized to AG he could walk away with at least some honour, instead he's a coward who's hiding behind a ludicrous argument, and any Lions fan who defends him can be lumped in the same category.
Disgraceful.
