The point being that all religious and supernatural beliefs are all based on the same desire for people to explain what they don't understand. Karl Marx did get one thing right in calling religion "The opiate of the masses". Gods are a primitive idea that require incredible leaps of logic and reason. The price for peace of mind is the abandonment of logic and reasonable discourse. To think that an adult (you) have just gleefully condemned me to hell says it all.

You need to consider that there are tens of thousands of gods to choose from, many of them considerably older than the one you choose to worship.
