  • The global population size has not been quantified, but the species is reported to be common throughout most of its range(Extent of Occurrence <20,000 km2 combined with a declining or fluctuating range size, habitat extent/quality, or population size and a small number of locations or severe fragmentation). For these reasons the species is evaluated as Least Concern.

  • Loriculus Philippensis (Phil. hanging parrot) This species has a very large range, and hence does not approach the thresholds for Vulnerable under the range size criterion and is categorized as a "LEAST CONCERN" under the IUCN red list of threatened species as of Oct 3 2011..its NOT ENDANGERED. has to pass the NEAR THREATENED,then VULNERABLE categories first before it can qualify for ENDANGERED..you may review charts of Butchart,S-Birdlife International for reference
