so many different information from zz, sweetwater, musiciandfriends, and the taylor website itself about solid sapele and laminated rosewood body ...and here i know that since 2007, laminated rosewood start using on 214...thanks dude :)

Nice review. Do you think that the non-cutaway is any deeper or fuller than the cutaway model?

@jota3845 Maybe just a little. Not noticable enough unless playing them side by side. If you have the right woods on a cutaway model, it can sound just as full and deep.

Excellent review.. I have a 2007 rosewood laminate 214 and am extremely happy with it, having owned some much more expensive guitars.
One clever design feature incorporated into the 214 made possible by the using laminate is an arched braceless back. The sold odels require cross braces to prevent cracking. The parabolic shape ostensibly may enhace the sound to close that solid/laminate gap.
The recording sounds beautiful. Using the mic shown in the video? looks like a large diaphram.

@stealthamp Yes, that mic is an MXL 4000, you can get it for around $200. It's picking up all guitar and voice.
