Tausende Schaulustige und Medienvertreter waren am 29. Dezember 1999 auf das Gelände des Flugplatz Speyer geströmt, um ein ganz besonderes Spektakel mitzuerleben - die Landung eines riesigen Antonov An-22 Großraumflugzeugs. Mit einer Spannweite von 64 Metern und einem Leergewicht von 114 Tonnen ist die An-22 das größte Propeller-Flugzeug der Welt. http://speyer.technik-museum.de/antonov-22 | One of the greatest attractions of the Technik MUSEUM SPEYER is a Ukrainian Antonov AN 22. The craft has a wing-span of 64 m, a length of 57,80 m, and a height of 12,53 m. This type is the biggest propeller-driven plane of the world with an unladen weight of 114 tons. It was brought to Speyer from Kiev (Ukraine) by air: an overland transport would have been absolutely impossible.
