While Hanging out at Rescue 1 in Newark this evening a full assignment was called in for a report of a working fire. We followed Rescue 1 into the scence only to stop a block from quarters to find a 2 car MVA with multiple occupants entrapted. As Rescue 1 took in this new job it just so happened to turn out that the working fire was a false alarm. Rescue 1 freed the sole occupant of the pickup truck fairly quickly with a simple door pop. The driver of the red car took a bit more work. This video will show all units responding in to the box (minus HaztMat 2) and going to work.
At this time it is not known who had the right of way but what can be said is that the green pick-up truck T-Boned the red car and sent him into a fire hydrant, a clothing drop box, and a traffic singal. Both occupants appeared to be ok at time of transport. A level 1 Hazmat response was called for due to fluids from both vehicles leaking down a storm drain.
