Di Paolo studied with Michael Trimble at this time. it really caused an uproar when Trimble first told him that he was really a tenor. Everybody said that it would ruin America's most beautiful baritone (inaudible over an orchestra). Trimble was right. Pav loved Trimble's students, as did Jerome HInes, Richard Bonynge, and George London. Check out Trimble singing on Youtube. he also has a website. The only big-league teacher who can prove his method as a singer.

You can tell they clicked well in this video, so Luciano following his progress etc comes as no surprise
