  • Hello Banjo Ben, I have only just found this video so I am completely new to you and what you are doing. My frustration with playing fast (as in bluegrass) is that I just can't pick with the blistering speed necessary to make it sound right. Do you have anything on learning to play faster?

  • @cowdudeable Howdy! Well, as you can probably guess, there's no magic pill. No one is just naturally blisteringly fast out of the box. The key is to follow a process and work your way up to songs as difficult and fast as this one, which is what I strive to do for my students on my website. Keep pickin', brother!

  • I have a mind to punch you for that first Foggy Mountain Breakdown beat boxing comment.

  • @MegaBoss317 You can have a mind all you want, but actually doing it is a whole different story. A boooh..ts ts...booh...ts ts...blwlwlwlwlww.

  • Old video I know, but just curious do you play other music aside from bluegrass?

  • @disclosurenow9 Howdy! I sure do! I do some fingerstyle stuff on my website, and I grew up playing classical piano (though I don't play too much of that anymore). Also, I'm getting more and more into playing western swing, which I've been a fan of for a long time. Thanks!

  • Hi Ben,

You're a great guy and this is a great video. I've been studying it for four months now and am nearly up to speed.

Inspirational stuff. Keep up the good work.

  • So beyond getting into a pissing match with certain people ,I would just like to say thanks BanjoBen for taking the time to share your music with us. I have learned from your videos and I like your sense of humor.

  • thanks for taking the time, but it would really make it a lot easier to follow if you broke it up into segments, as in not just playing the whole thing through right away, and maybe go a little slower on the harder parts, thanks very much though! subscribed

  • very nice playing, brother

  • Your beat box sounds more like a horse rapping. Good picking bud!

  • grow the frick up ..clown
