Hello, WRite your own music and leave Handel ALONE! People add drums and then think it's hip. No it's just loud. YOu want something fresh, listen to Symphonic Metal. They write truly new things.
I'm sorry, but I think all you people who are criticizing this are missing the point. This is one of those "so-bad-it's-laughably-awesome" type of thing. Sit back, drink a beer, and enjoy laughing at it.
Adding new instrumentation to an old piece does not "create a new classic..." It was already a classic. That said, there's nothing wrong with new art, but it's important to understand the motivation behind this...was it to interpret an old piece in an avant-garde way in order to better reach an audience? Maybe. Either way, adding a synthesizer, drumset, and electric guitar does NOT make this like Phantom of the Opera. They are from two completely separate genres of music.
I like it and feel that as different interpretations go this is worthy in its own right. Very courageous I first heard it in 1991.. Liked it since then audio on this is not great though
@siskaholic You can go easy on them. It is always to listen to different ideas. Change is good. I am sure people who would never have listened to the original would listen to this and develop a greater appreciation for the original. I happen to be one of those. Now I can understand and appreciate the Classic.

@longeaton34 I think Handel should come back and sue them for plagerizing and ruining his work.

Qué pereza cuando destruyen una obra que ya es perfecta por si misma. :S

This is deliciously putrid. Just like Nellie Oleson in LHOTP, you love to hate it.
