Do you even know where Newfoundland is geographically? Most seal killing occurs in Nunavut and other parts of the freakin' arctic.

Labrador (the other part of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador) probably does have seals, though, but nobody lives there. Newfoundland is just an island filled with fishermen...

Re:NFLD being backwards: the community/culture is in general so positive, empathetic and compassionate that anyone not used to the common courtesy and respect exchanged there may find it alien or foreign. They are cordial and greet each other on the street. When I was lost (drunk) in St. John's one night, a couple I approached for directions offered me money for a cab. Try engaging with the average pedestrian on a busy Toronto street and you may be viewed as a sociopath for making eye contact.

I was going to mention to whoever runs WLT 'There's this most excellent band out of Newfoundland with a profound sound - Hey Rosetta! you've got to get them over and film them live!'

they should but look whats happened to those artists who get heard...look what happened to florence and the machines for instance......she was such a cool, down to earth artist, well I'm not saying that she's bad now but ever since she became mainstream she lost her beautiful, creative sound she used to have. i can't really say i am a hipster but becoming a mainstream artist can corrupt and you should know that
